We're back! With a backyard Easter egg hunt. This was Kian's first official egg hunt and I was very excited! I loved doing Easter celebrations when I was little and now that Kian was old enough to actually try out some different activities I planned a little bit of everything for him. Traditionally my family used real eggs for our egg hunt but being that Kian is one, we used plastic eggs for his first time. He loved it! and he was very specific about which eggs he wanted. There was one teal egg that he avoided every single time for no reason we could discern. It was a very successful first Easter egg hunt!

Kian & Nova
We adopted a dog! Her name is Nova, she is about two years old and was found after a flood with some puppies. She is incredibly sweet and the first week she was with us she was very timid and shy. It's been about a month now and she is a whole different dog! Very excitable and very protective. In fact we have to work with her on the protective-ness since she growls at everyone who comes in the house, even when she's met them before.
Kian took to Nova very quickly and their favorite game, well at least Kian's favorite game, is take away. Kian takes Nova's moose and Nova gets it back and they start all over. It's adorable!

Decorating With a Toddler
Decorating the Christmas tree with a toddler is basically like taking them to a toy store. The first picture was about three minutes after we opened the box of decorations. Kian was loving it! I gave him several of our non-breakable decorations and boxes and let him play while I hung all of our glass ornaments. Then he helped me hang a couple and I have no idea how the glass bulb that we dropped did not break but it is magically still hanging on our tree.
Before we hung any of our decorations we put up a felt Christmas tree that Kian could decorate and un-decorate as much as he wants. He LOVES it. His favorite thing is to take all the decorations off, scrunch them up in his hand, and run around the house. Our Christmas season has started off perfectly!

Christmas Tree Farm
We made the trek out to Rhonda & Chris' Treeland after Thanksgiving. We went there last year when Kian was only two months old and so itty bitty. On the drive out we were talking about how small he was and how we had to worry about him sleeping, and getting hungry (since we were still feeding on demand) and how this year we had to make sure we didn't lose him because he's just so fast now.
As much as I miss that itty bitty tiny baby, this year was so fun! He was able to run around and help us pick out a tree and ride in the wagon. I absolutely adore this stage with him and I can not wait for Christmas!
PS we made another video, which we are putting together now and will up here and on our youtube channel soon!

Kian and His Skeletons
My dream of my child loving Halloween as much as I do is coming true! He loves everything scary! Anytime we walk down a halloween aisle and something turns on or drops from the ceiling, he cracks up! He love it!! and I could not be more thrilled.
