Old Hickory

Andrew Jackson VI

Over the weekend we went to The Hermitage, the presidential home of Andrew Jackson, to take part in the celebration of his 247th birthday.  There was a wreath laying with relatives and senators, birthday cake, wagon rides and a bunch of booths where you could learn about old timey things.

The property was pretty amazing but I will say it has an interesting history. I guess there are a lot of things like that in the south.
